Careers at Flexoraa

We hire slowly, then leave you alone to work.

Four people, no managers, and a product used in 340 portals. If you have ever wanted to own a thing end to end and actually finish it, this is that job.

What you are joining

A studio that is deliberately too small.

We have turned down work that would have doubled us. Every person here ships to production in their first week, because there is nobody to hand it to.

That cuts both ways. There is no onboarding programme, no career ladder document, and no one to escalate to. What there is instead: the whole problem, yours to solve, and four people who will tell you plainly when you are wrong.

The deal

What we actually offer.

No table tennis, no unlimited leave that nobody takes. These are the things we have committed to in writing.

Four day week, paid for five

Fridays are not a perk we advertise and then quietly claw back. The calendar is blocked for everyone, founders included.

No on-call rotation

We build themes, not pagers. If something breaks at 2am it waits until morning, and that has never once cost us a client.

Budget you spend yourself

An annual learning budget with no approval step. Book the conference, buy the course, tell us afterwards.

Your hours are yours

Two fixed overlap hours a day for anything synchronous. Arrange the rest however your life needs it.

Real ownership of a surface

You will own modules end to end: fields, markup, docs and the support questions they generate. Nobody reviews you into paralysis.

Written decisions, not meetings

Two scheduled calls a week. Everything else is written down, which means you can read the whole history of why anything is the way it is.

How we hire

Four steps, about two weeks.

01

You write, we read

No CV parser. A short note about something you built and what you would change about it now.

02

A call with two of us

Forty five minutes. Mostly you asking us things, because you are the one taking the bigger risk.

03

A paid piece of real work

Three hours, at our contractor rate, on something already on our board. You keep the work either way.

04

Decision within three days

Yes or no, in writing, with the actual reason. We have never let this one slip.

I shipped a module to production in week one. I also broke the docs build in week one. Nobody made either of those a big deal, which told me more than the interview did.

Open roles

Four seats, and we mean all four.

Every role here is funded and open today. If a listing is filled we take it down the same week rather than collecting applications.
